Tips for SuccessProcedures1. Be on time - Whether class is at school or online, we will start each class on time.
2. Do your homework – Yes, there will be homework that will help prepare you for the next class’ activity, as well as help you learn the vocabulary and key concepts required for each phenomenon
3. Do your BEST on every assignment - We will be doing labs, activities, projects, etc., together these efforts will help you learn the required curriculum and prepare you for passing your high school science classes.
4. Turn each assignment in on time – Due to being new to junior high, it can be easy to get behind. When you turn your assignments in on time, it allows you to stay on top of your work and to feel good about what you are accomplishing.
5. Be okay with making mistakes – mistakes are how we learn. There will be a lot of opportunities to think through ideas and to wonder about things with your classmates – take advantage of these opportunities to learn. Don't be afraid of sharing your thinking or a possible answer, even if it ends up not being correct. Learn from your mistakes, it’s a great way to help learn new concepts. What would have happened if, when you were learning how to walk, after falling down once or twice you decided to stop trying to walk? School is no different - keep at it!
6. Be kind and willing to help classmates – There are all types of people in our class, each person is unique and has something to share. When we’re open to new people, we can learn from each other.
7. Be a group participant – We will be doing a lot of group work in this class, so it is important to do your part to help the group be successful.
8. Follow all classroom and lab rules – Class is so much more enjoyable when everyone is doing their part, plus we can get a lot more done, which means we will make our goals and learn what we need to, to be successful.
